Expensive? Yes.
But there are two pools. And decent showers. And unlimited classes.
Totally worth it to the pregnant chick that knows Little Rock summers are BRUTAL.
I don't usually take classes, I've never done Zumba, did do some kickboxing but I'm intrigued about the classes now that my running has slowed considerably.
Today I did Cardio Dance.
Um....
I felt like I was in a Saturday Night Live skit. I think I looked like it too. Yikes.
I will say that I did enjoy the experience but with all the hip wiggles and pelvic rocks, my tummy was sore but the end of the class. Probably won't be a weekly class but think I did sweat a bit and the people were very welcoming, which is always good.
The big win of the day was my workout wear.
I had mentioned in my last post that there are some maternity pieces that you can totally wear when you aren't pregnant.
The tank I wore today is one of those pieces, this is a basic layer tank from Motherhood Maternity
The picture is supposed to show the length, which is over the booty and to the upper thigh....you also get some bump- which is always fun!
I one of these tanks as a gift and went out and got several other colors after the 1st wear.
These tanks are great, very reasonably priced and they are excellent either worn by themselves or as layering pieces.
I got the same size in these that I did in clothes pre-pregnancy (if you want a reference, I'm wearing a small), not sure if I'll need to size up as the summer goes on but I think this one should be o.k. for a few more months and they are so cheap, you can get more if needed.
I plan on wearing these post-baby, I always struggle to find tanks long enough and if a tank can cover a bump....it can long layer with ease. :)
Great workout tank, Bump is coming at you!
I am still in my yoga pants from before I got pregnant, I wear Beyond Yoga yoga pants and they are fabulous. I am hopeful that I can keep wearing them during the entire pregnancy...we shall see...
Post-workout I had a new green smoothie!
Kale-Berry Smoothie
I tried something new today, my doula recommended that I use frozen kale in my smoothies so I went for it.
I thought it was alright....I could taste the greens so that I wasn't a big fan of but overall the smoothie was pretty good.
The smoothie was very filling and large, I didn't finish it so I would recommend planning on having a freezer handy (I don't think this smoothie would be good warm).
Here's the recipe-
Kale-Berry Smoothie
1 cup frozen Kale (I got mine at Whole Foods)
Banana
1 cup frozen Mixed Berries
1 cup Almond Milk
1 Tablespoon Cocao Powder
Ice/Water
I would do this smoothie again because it's filling and has tons of fiber, which is always a good thing!
I'll leave you with a picture of me and Avery before our morning walk...the bump is not as shy in the picture!
Little cheesy...Avery is completely unimpressed.... :)
I'm going to try a step aerobics class tomorrow, hopefully I will feel less awkward...
This weekend is my birthday and my momma is coming up so I will have a full report with pics since we will be out and about. Very excited and ready for Friday!!
: )
